Our Events

Join us for the Men’s Textile Collective "Gather, Shop, and Create" events! Twice a month, we come together at local craft stores to work on projects, learn new skills, and build lasting connections—all while supporting local businesses and giving back to our communities through charity-driven initiatives. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just getting started, there's a place for you at MTC. Some of our Gather, Shop & Create events will feature guest speakers who will share insights on the benefits of textile therapy for anxiety, PTSD, and even dementia and Alzheimer's. These gatherings are not just about crafting—they’re also about learning how textile arts can support mental health and well-being.

Our Mission

At Men’s Textile Collective (MTC), we’re creating a one-of-a-kind platform where men from all backgrounds can connect, craft, and share their passion for textile arts. While men have been crafting for centuries, MTC is expanding that tradition by building a larger, more inclusive community where men can gather both online and in person to break stereotypes, build relationships, and create with purpose. Our mission is rooted in three pillars: breaking down the barriers that discourage men from textile crafting, fostering a supportive community, and using our talents to give back.

We’re especially dedicated to educating the public, veterans, and first responders about the mental health benefits of textile therapy. By engaging veterans and first responders in our projects, we’re helping them find a new outlet for creativity and healing. Through our charitable crafting initiatives, we work together on meaningful projects—like quilts for the homeless and blankets for foster children—and auction them off to raise funds for non-profits that support veterans and first responders.

Three Pillars

Breaking Stereotypes

Textile crafting isn’t just for women—it’s for anyone with creativity and passion. MTC exists to challenge the outdated belief that men don’t belong in the world of quilting, sewing, crocheting, or knitting. By bringing men together, we’re creating a space that encourages all guys to explore their creative sides without judgment. Whether you’re new to crafting or a seasoned expert, MTC is your community to break those barriers.

Building Community

At MTC, we know that the power of community is just as important as the craft itself. Through our “Gather, Shop, and Create” events and online forums, we’re connecting men from all walks of life to share skills, teach one another, and support each other. We’re building lasting friendships and strong networks of men who craft for joy, for therapy, and for the love of giving back.

Creating with Purpose

Crafting isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way to give back. MTC’s projects are designed with a purpose: to help others. Whether we’re making Christmas stockings for foster children, quilts for the homeless, or blankets for children battling cancer, each piece has a story and a mission behind it. We also auction off select projects, with all proceeds benefiting veteran and first responder non-profits.

About Us

At Men’s Textile Collective (MTC), we’re on a mission to break stereotypes, build community, and create with purpose. Our three pillars guide everything we do: we’re redefining what it means for men to engage in textile crafting, bringing men together to create a supportive and welcoming environment where they can learn, share, and connect, and crafting with purpose by helping others through our charity projects—like quilts for the homeless and stockings for foster children.

We’re also passionate about educating veterans and first responders on the powerful benefits of textile therapy. Textile crafting can help manage anxiety, PTSD, and even conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's. At MTC, we’re not just creating—we’re building a community that supports mental health and well-being through the art of crafting.

Join us in bringing holiday joy to some of the kids in Pathways Youth Servides! The Men's Textile Collective is partnering with Pathways Foster Care to create 175 handmade Christmas stockings for children in need. For just $5.00, you can sponsor a stocking - covering both the materials we'll purchase from our local craft store partner and goodies to fill them with holiday cheer. At our upcoming event, December 7, 2024 we'll gather over hot chocolate, coffee, and snacks while we craft together and hear directly from a Pathways representative about their vital work in our community.

Pathways is dedicated to nurturing thriving children and building resilient families through their comprehensive support services. Their approach is grounded in core values of compassion, excellence, and empowerment, focusing on creating strong communities through acceptance and teamwork.

As we craft these stockings together, we're not just making holiday decorations - we're supporting an organization that brings hope and stability to children in foster care. To sponsor a stocking or learn more about joining our crafting session, visit [website link]. Come join us for this heartwarming event where community, crafting, and compassion come together.
